Mermet USA chooses the Picanol OptiMax-i

After careful evaluation, Mermet USA has chosen the Picanol OptiMax-i flexible rapier weaving machine for its latest expansion.

For some time now, Mermet USA has been looking to increase production at its Cowpens (SC) plant without having to expand its existing building. Picanol's latest OptiMax-i flexible rapier machine occupies 15% less floor space and has faster output than any other equipment available on the market. These two parameters formed the basis for the decision to select the Picanol OptiMax-i.

The decision to switch weaving machine supplier was not taken lightly, as Mermet USA serves markets that require the highest qualities. With OptiMax-i machines from Picanol, Mermet USA has acquired a stable production platform that offers flexible, high-speed weaving and features that make it possible to produce faster than any other alternative available in the market today.

Backed by full-service capabilities that include training, PCB repair and fast deliveries of spare parts from Picanol of America in Greenville (SC), the Mermet USA management were assured of a strong, long-term partnership with the Belgian manufacturer.

Mermet USA is part of the Hunter Douglas group and is specialized in the production of top-quality sunscreens made of PVC-coated fiberglass yarns.
